Since I wanted direct contact with the horses to feel which one was the right fit for me, we quickly discussed visiting the horses in person. Although pandemic-related issues delayed this plan, everything happens for a reason. As a result, in May 2021, we flew together to Spain and visited the stud farm in the north of Madrid. Tatjana accompanied me during all horse viewings in the paddocks and stables. We analyzed and discussed the horses, both those already under saddle and the green young ones, to decide who would make it to the shortlist. While I was still struggling with the pedigrees and names of the breeding stallions and mares, Tatjana had a complete overview of all the stud farm's bloodlines within a few hours.
